Yes. I found it again near the end of our year at the academy, and I have been carrying it since. It was the only weapon they did not strip me of before throwing me into prison to await execution. Perhaps they didn't notice, or perhaps it being more of a ceremonial dagger meant that they simply didn't care... but all the same, they left it with me.
