A mist settles in over the monastery.
Is it morning? Night? Who can say? Today, the day feels endless. The sun is nowhere to be seen — or had it been at all? Instead, a curious green glow engulfs Garreg Mach, like an eternal twilight settling in. Time seems to be paused almost, though the wildlife in and around the area continues to act as though nothing is wrong. As though this is perfectly normal. As though it is natural for the skies to be dark, with not a single star in sight, and for the sun to be forgotten in the mist that lingers. The paths are at least lit by small orbs of light, fireflies flitting about.
However, should one come into contact with one of those fireflies, a memory of the past will be projected for all in the close vicinity to see. Joyous occasions, tragic events — they don't seem to discern one way or another. Perhaps it would be best to watch your step for now, though.
Of course, after lingering for about a day, the strange ambience will fade into what appears to be a normal night at Garreg Mach. It's as if nothing had happened at all. Did it? Or was it all simply a shared hallucination?
[ ● MEMSHARE POST. Coming into contact with the fireflies will share a memory of your character's with those around them. You can top-level with a memory to start out or have people tag you and determine it then, whatever. I don't make the rules (except I do and I say yolo). Have fun with it!
● Open posts like this one are flipping to a two week schedule instead of a weekly one.
● Because of the above, the last bit is there for people who'd maybe like to play out aftermath threads later on but don't want to wait for a new post or make a new one.
● Settings have been slightly updated. ]

Felix! I...I did not realize you were there!
[How...how had that happened?]
Did...did you also see...what happened?

[ Felix folds his arms across his chest and glares at the fireflies darkly. One might think that they were a bitter enemy instead of an insect, the look he gives them. ]
I almost don’t believe what I saw. [ With a glance at Flayn, he continues, ] The Black Eagle house…fighting against Edelgard? How did you convince them?

Oh, it was not I who convinced anyone. They came because we had promised to reunite on that day, and when they saw that the Professor had returned...
[She trails off. The Professor being there, in her mind, kind of explained everything, was the key to everything.]
Well. It is hard not to want to fight beside them.

Ah, I see. It was the same for me, though I returned with the Golden Deer house.
[ And fought the remnants of the Black Eagle house to the death. But those were apparently this Flayn’s allies; he doesn’t want her to dwell on that. ]
Well, as far as memories go… That was fairly tame.
[ The other memories he’s so far experienced have been far more embarrassing, for various reasons. Flayn is fortunate that the fireflies didn’t showcase her first lecture from Big Bro Seteth or something. ]

[But hadn't Felix been in the Blue Lion House? Interesting...]
Er...yes, I suppose it was. Still...it feels somewhat rude to have them shown about by a firefly, is it not?

[ There’s been so much pain lately, felt by anybody and everybody who suffered unpleasant memories of the past. Felix may be being playful, but it’s in the hope of keeping things light. Even he’s had enough of the doom and gloom. ]

[It's a surprisingly serious answer...]

[Oh my God, Flayn]

Yes, cats would be alright. [ Which is as close to singing their praises as Felix will get. ] And perhaps they could take care of our pest problem.
[ Right on cue, a firefly wanders too close for comfort. Felix slips free a sword scabbard from where it normally hangs at his hip and lightly smacks the bug away. ]

[She's more scared of the bug than Felix's sword, no worries.]
Perhaps they would! I have never observed a cat eat a bug, but it does not seem impossible...

[ The sword is returned to his hip. ]

[She suddenly does not want to see a cat's collection of dead bugs.]

[ Though it may be a grim subject, Felix speaks of it casually; the nature of cats is something he’s observed many times over, growing up. ]
As a child, there was a particular cat that would bring dead birds to my doorstep. I caught it in the act once and tried to stop it, but cats are born hunters. They don’t understand pity.
[ Felix had cried and buried each of those birds. He doesn't mention that. ]

[Isn't that a thing? Cats bringing their prey to people as gifts?]
