A mist settles in over the monastery.

Is it morning? Night? Who can say? Today, the day feels endless. The sun is nowhere to be seen — or had it been at all? Instead, a curious green glow engulfs Garreg Mach, like an eternal twilight settling in. Time seems to be paused almost, though the wildlife in and around the area continues to act as though nothing is wrong. As though this is perfectly normal. As though it is natural for the skies to be dark, with not a single star in sight, and for the sun to be forgotten in the mist that lingers. The paths are at least lit by small orbs of light, fireflies flitting about.

However, should one come into contact with one of those fireflies, a memory of the past will be projected for all in the close vicinity to see. Joyous occasions, tragic events — they don't seem to discern one way or another. Perhaps it would be best to watch your step for now, though.

Of course, after lingering for about a day, the strange ambience will fade into what appears to be a normal night at Garreg Mach. It's as if nothing had happened at all. Did it? Or was it all simply a shared hallucination?

[ ● MEMSHARE POST. Coming into contact with the fireflies will share a memory of your character's with those around them. You can top-level with a memory to start out or have people tag you and determine it then, whatever. I don't make the rules (except I do and I say yolo). Have fun with it!
● Open posts like this one are flipping to a two week schedule instead of a weekly one.
● Because of the above, the last bit is there for people who'd maybe like to play out aftermath threads later on but don't want to wait for a new post or make a new one.

[Felix exhales.]

Yes.

[His gaze falls on the creatures once more. It's tact that Felix very much appreciates, even if he doesn't say as much.]

...Is there even a place without these things?

[Certainly, it will make going about their daily tasks inconvenient, to say the least of it.]

[ She purses her lips, glancing around. Is there? It seemed dark everywhere, frankly, which wasn't very promising. ]

I don't know. But if I had to guess? Probably not.

Thought so.

[But it was nice to hope against it, even for just a while.]

Then I guess we have no choice but to wait out these things, unless someone well-versed in magic among us gets to the bottom of it.

[Assuming the origin of the effect is magical in nature.]

[ The only person that comes to mind is Marianne, and the thought of pushing her to figure it out is—

It's not happening. Not on Hilda's watch, anyway.
]

Looks like we're waiting it out.

[ She shrugs her shoulders, letting out a sigh. ]

Hope you're good at dodging these things, huh.

Probably.

[And that's what has him on edge. Felix can certainly avoid most of these things, but it's the small amount he knows that will manage to slip past his guard that has him worried.]

Small mercy that they glow instead of being next to invisible, I suppose. Don't think anyone here is keen to have their memories displayed so openly.

I can't think of anyone who would be, honestly.

[ They'd have to be crazy and even then, they probably wouldn't want that to happen. ]

Still, probably better to stay inside, you know? It just seems like there's less space for that stuff to float around or whatever.

A fair point.

[Not that staying inside appeals to him at all.]

What are you going to do from this point forward, though?

Well . . . I'll probably head over to the dining hall and pull out the candles. You know, see if I can get some real light going. Maybe that'll ward them off?

[ It's a long shot, she knows, but it's something she can do. ]

Still better than not trying. I'll leave it to you, then.

[And he'll likely be doing a survey of the grounds just in case.]

I'll let you know if I find anything of note.

[ She gives him a nod at that, smiling brightly. ]

You're the best, Felix!

[ Does she say that to everyone?

. . . yeah, probably.

[Whatever the case is, the sentiment is appreciated.]

I'll keep in touch.

[And with that, he takes his leave.]
