A mist settles in over the monastery.
Is it morning? Night? Who can say? Today, the day feels endless. The sun is nowhere to be seen — or had it been at all? Instead, a curious green glow engulfs Garreg Mach, like an eternal twilight settling in. Time seems to be paused almost, though the wildlife in and around the area continues to act as though nothing is wrong. As though this is perfectly normal. As though it is natural for the skies to be dark, with not a single star in sight, and for the sun to be forgotten in the mist that lingers. The paths are at least lit by small orbs of light, fireflies flitting about.
However, should one come into contact with one of those fireflies, a memory of the past will be projected for all in the close vicinity to see. Joyous occasions, tragic events — they don't seem to discern one way or another. Perhaps it would be best to watch your step for now, though.
Of course, after lingering for about a day, the strange ambience will fade into what appears to be a normal night at Garreg Mach. It's as if nothing had happened at all. Did it? Or was it all simply a shared hallucination?
[ ● MEMSHARE POST. Coming into contact with the fireflies will share a memory of your character's with those around them. You can top-level with a memory to start out or have people tag you and determine it then, whatever. I don't make the rules (except I do and I say yolo). Have fun with it!
● Open posts like this one are flipping to a two week schedule instead of a weekly one.
● Because of the above, the last bit is there for people who'd maybe like to play out aftermath threads later on but don't want to wait for a new post or make a new one.
● Settings have been slightly updated. ]

Somehow, having someone else there to witness it makes him uncomfortably aware of how very fucked up his childhood was, for that to have been a pretty forgettable moment.
At least, with this apparent commonality, he can be sure this is something Sylvain will keep to himself. Just as he'll keep Sylvain's words to himself. He remembers the incident with Miklan, and though he doesn't know if this Sylvain ended up with the Golden Deer, that wouldn't effect his relationship with his brother. It's not a surprise, anyway, more confirming a vague suspicion.]
Yeah... Any place that has inherited titles, you're going to get things like that. [Claude shrugs-- as though a matter of inheritance was all that was at play there.]

[--was that really what was afoot there? It doesn’t line up in quite the same ways, not quite so seamlessly as it should for that to be the sole reasoning. Something feels... incongruent, somehow.
But this is something that Sylvain was never meant to have seen, really; just as his own experience was no doubt thrust upon Claude unwillingly in like kind. So perhaps it’s best to let analysis, comparisons, and things of that nature drop, rather than digging deep into them to try to extract information.
Besides -- given Claude’s nature, Sylvain would be nothing short of a fool to think he could, in fact, successfully pry a single lead from his metaphorically-antlered companion.
So, instead, he spreads his arms open wide, palms up, and shakes his head. ] I guess you’re right. I shouldn’t be so surprised you and I went through similar experiences as kids.
[ ... ]
Over a book, though?
[ ...okay so his curiosity got to him a little. So what? ]

Dammit.
Claude smiles wryly; come on now, they both know it was never anything to do with the book. It was just something Claude put value in-- something that could be used to hurt him.]
Well, it's pretty embarrassing for a noble, a kid less than half your age reading thicker books than you've ever held.
[Sorry, you have to unlock his A-support before he'll drop better hints about his Tragic Past.]
